This backyard transformation in Kirkland, WA began with a property that had plenty of potential but very little usable outdoor living space. The existing wood deck had begun to deteriorate, rainwater poured directly onto the exposed aggregate patio below, and the sloped lawn limited how the homeowners could use their backyard. Their goal was to create a beautiful, low maintenance outdoor living space that could be enjoyed throughout every season while improving access, comfort, and functionality.
Our outdoor living design completely reimagined the property by creating multiple connected gathering spaces. We replaced the aging deck with TimberTech composite decking, installed powder coated aluminum railings, and added an under deck drainage system with a finished soffit ceiling to create a dry outdoor room below. The existing concrete patio was transformed with modern porcelain pavers, while a new retaining wall created a larger, more functional lawn finished with artificial turf. A custom fire pit patio, built in seating, landscape lighting, planting, and connecting walkways completed this Kirkland backyard renovation, giving the homeowners a luxury outdoor living space that is beautiful, durable, and easy to enjoy year round.
