This backyard transformation in Newcastle, WA began with a basic concrete patio and an open lawn that offered very little functionality. Although the homeowners had plenty of space, there was no reason to spend time outside. Their goal was to create a luxury outdoor living space that felt unique, stayed clean with minimal maintenance, and could be enjoyed throughout the year. Our landscape design focused on creating multiple destinations while maintaining a seamless flow between each outdoor living area.
The finished backyard now features a custom cedar patio cover with a clear roof, allowing natural light to filter through while providing protection from the rain. A custom paver patio with an intricate inlay connects the covered living area to a circular fire pit patio surrounded by a seating wall with natural basalt caps. Low maintenance artificial turf reduces ongoing yard work while landscape lighting extends the enjoyment of the space well into the evening. The result is a custom outdoor living space that blends thoughtful landscape design, premium materials, and exceptional craftsmanship into a backyard the homeowners can enjoy year round.
