This backyard had very little usable space. The lawn was sloped, frequently soggy, and difficult to maintain throughout the year. While the existing retaining wall held back the main grade, it did little to improve the functionality of the yard, leaving most of the space uneven and unsuitable for everyday use. There were no patios, covered areas, or dedicated gathering spaces, and the homeowners found themselves looking out at a backyard they rarely used.
To transform the space, we installed an additional retaining wall to create a large, level yard and replaced the struggling lawn with artificial turf for year-round enjoyment. A covered patio provides protection from the rain, while a dedicated fire pit patio, side gathering area, and custom water feature create multiple destinations throughout the landscape. New plantings help soften and screen the existing retaining wall, and landscape lighting illuminates the entire backyard after dark. The result is a functional outdoor living space where every square foot serves a purpose and can be enjoyed throughout the year.
